Symptoms
Rabies symptoms may take time to develop and can include tingling and itchiness at the infection site, fever, irrational fear of water and aggressive behaviour. Once symptoms appear, the disease is almost always fatal.

Vaccination Schedule
The rabies vaccination consists of three doses, administered over a minimum of 21 days. After the first vaccination, the second is given seven days later, followed by the third dose 14 days after the second. If you encounter an animal bite or scratch, seek immediate medical attention. For individuals without prior rabies vaccination, medical help must be sought within 24 hours. If the three vaccinations were completed before travel, it is still vital to seek medical attention. This provides an additional 24-hour window to reach the hospital, requiring only two extra vaccinations compared to the five vaccinations and a blood transfusion required in the absence of pre-exposure vaccination.
