WHEREBY IT IS HEREBY AGREED AND DECLARED AS FOLLOWS:

  • 1. This agreement shall apply each time the Locum is retained and continue in force until determined by not less than thirty days' written notice given by either party.
  • 2. During the subsistence of this agreement, the Proprietor shall receive services from the Locum, and the Locum shall render to the Proprietor services as a Pharmacist at whichever of the Proprietor’s premises is designated on each retention.
  • 3. The Locum, who warrants that they are a registered Pharmacist and aware of the Proprietor’s statutory and professional obligations, shall ensure compliance with these obligations at the pharmacy.
  • 4. In the event of illness or emergency, the Locum must notify the Proprietor by calling Iain on 07795188817 between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
  • 5. The Locum shall exercise professional skill and diligence but will not be subject to the Proprietor's control regarding how services are performed.
  • 6. The Locum will not be required to perform duties related to the Proprietor’s business operation beyond those of a statutory pharmacist, including dispensing, supervising the sale of medicines, and advising on treatments for common ailments.
  • 7. The Locum shall provide their own protective clothing and necessary equipment not available at the pharmacy.
  • 8. The Locum shall receive an agreed gross fee per hour, with no deductions, and will be responsible for their own travel expenses unless agreed otherwise with the Proprietor.
  • 9. The Locum must maintain suitable professional indemnity insurance for any services provided.
  • 10. The Locum must adhere to the Proprietor’s dress code and should not conduct their own business on the Proprietor’s premises.
  • 11. The Locum shall follow all Health and Safety regulations, company policies, procedures, and security rules.
  • 12. The company has a formal equal opportunities policy that prohibits discrimination on any grounds, and any breaches will result in investigation and action if necessary.
  • 13. The Locum should notify the Proprietor of any investigations by the police or the GPhC that could affect their membership or fitness to practice.
  • 14. The Locum must ensure they have completed all necessary training for providing services, such as repeat dispensing, and provide accreditation copies to the Proprietor.
  • 15. The Locum must confirm placement acceptance by WhatsApp or text and may be asked to vary booking times or locations reasonably.
  • 16. The Locum must arrive at the branch on time. They will only be paid from their arrival time, and unpaid breaks may be agreed with the Proprietor if the pharmacy closes for lunch.
  • 17. The Locum agrees not to disclose any business information they are exposed to while working for the Proprietor.
  • 18. The Locum is an independent contractor and responsible for their own National Insurance and tax obligations.
  • 19. Failure to abide by the terms of this agreement may result in a complaint being filed with the GPhC.
  • 20. This agreement does not restrict the Locum from providing services for others outside their time at the Pharmacy.
Payment Information:

Invoices received by 9 AM on the 3rd of the month will be paid into bank accounts on the 16th. Invoices received by 9 AM on the 16th will be paid at the end of the month.
